Meet Kaleigh & Ryan
Just six months after getting hitched to Ryan, Kaleigh Concannon launched her interior design firm when he was diagnosed with CIRS, Mold Toxicity Poisoning, and Lyme - all chronic illness triggered by toxins - the majority of which were in their home.
What began as a mission to create a healing environment and protect her husband’s health quickly became a defining career shift, blending intentional design with deep wellness.
As Ryan’s health improved, he joined the company as its lead researcher, staying at the forefront of the ever-evolving intersection of wellness and interior design.
The Clean List was born out of Ryan’s efforts, and now they want to share their learnings with those who care about the material choices they are making with their home design decisions.

Non-toxic interior design is the practice of creating beautiful, functional spaces while reducing exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and unhealthy indoor conditions.
It considers more than aesthetics, including:
What materials and ingredients products contain
VOC and formaldehyde emissions
PFAS, flame retardants and antimicrobial treatments
Mold and moisture resistance
Natural versus synthetic fibers
Adhesives, finishes, sealants and installation products
Ventilation, air quality and ease of cleaning
EMF exposure when relevant to the client
-
Everyone.
Over 80,000 new chemicals have been released into the world, the majority untested and unregulated - and they’re in your home. Furniture companies have no obligation to make customers aware of these toxins.
Exposure to toxins like VOCs over time can cause major health issues, with effects ranging from lung damage to brain issues to cancer.
78% of homes in America contain trace amounts of mold with 28% of the population having mold sensitivities that threaten their health. -
We’ve made healthier choices easier with The Clean List - a trusted place to begin.
You don’t need to replace everything at once. Making thoughtful, informed decisions as items naturally need replacing can create a meaningful difference over time. Start by learning which materials, finishes and chemicals are used in the furniture and products you bring into your home. Requesting Safety Data Sheets and additional material disclosures from manufacturers can provide valuable information - and signals that customers expect greater transparency and higher standards.
Speaking on the issues.
Kaleigh and Ryan are working to transform the home furnishings industry by educating both consumers and design professionals about the importance of healthier, more transparent material choices.
While non-toxic design is still considered a niche, awareness is growing. More people are beginning to question how the furnishings, finishes and materials they breathe around, touch and live with every day may affect their health and well-being.
Their mission is twofold: to help people create homes that are both beautiful and safe - and to use education, transparency and consumer demand to inspire manufacturers to adopt healthier materials and higher standards.
